A new appreciation of Die Philosophie des Als Ob from Hans Vaihinger

Abstract

In his work, Hans Vaihinger (1852-1933) pursue an interpretation of Kant’s philosophy as a general theory of spiritual fictions as one original type of transcendental fiction which discovers everything under the expression als ob (as if) that remind us to Kant’s writings. The intention of my work is to reevaluate Vaihinger’s work and the main idea that inspires it, searching to isolate it from the vital metaphysics and the pragmatist gnoseology to prove his virtuality for a new evaluation of Kant’s thought. Reading not only what Halle’s read but also some other writings that he didn’t read. By doing this I will try to present to you Kant’s fiction inside the transcendental poetics of the spirit the same way you can find it in this 3rd critic.
