John Rawls and the deficiencies of the sociological account

John Rawls’ A Theory of Justice is without doubt one of today’s most interesting proposals for a normative political theory. It is successful mainly because of the essential ambition of thinking on a non-metaphysical theory which clearly recognizes the role of political institutions in the process of normative constitution of society. However, the main argument this article aims to present is that John Rawls’ theory still fails to give a strong sociological account.
