To philosophize on the limit

Abstract

In December 2000, students and teachers, at the Faculty of Philosophy Samuel Ramos of the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolas de Hidalgo, had the chance to be part of a very productive philosophical exchange with Eugenio Trías, an outstanding Spanish thinker, whose expertise does not only cover the hispanic thought but the general thought of our times as well. His selfconfident philosophical attitude backed up by a fervent theoretical research makes Trías a sharp thinker whose word is able to keep a thread of a neverendless speech, in a “continuous variation”. Those who assisted the “Philosophy of the limit” —lecture can confirm this statement. With the purpose of putting on record this first encounter we decided to publish an interview with Trías which underlines and explores some main aspects and moments of his wide philosophical thought. It’s necessary to say that Trías kindly checked the transcription of the interview, before it was published in Devenires.
