A rebel fraternity
An interview with Pedro Casaldáliga
Keywords:
religion, liberation theology, Latin AmericaAbstract
From a retrospective point of view since his arrival to La Prelatura de Sâo Félix, Dom Pedro Casaldáliga reaffirms the relevance of Theology of the Liberation and his contribution to the dialogue ecumenical between religions. He updates the vision about the structural problems in Latin-American such as: the access to the land, the native issues, the emancipation of women and the environmental crisis. He analyzes the main role of capitalism inside the globalization as a dictatorship which imposes its interests to other kind of governments, whose persistence depends on the Mundial Bank, the Official Help of Development, the Millennium Goals and the spoliation of Africa, demanding solidarity as a commitment to the institutions from the rich countries. Finally, he thinks about the difficulties through his succession and his relation with the Vatican.
