The Senate before the suppression and restitution of the territory of QuintanaRoo, 1924-1935
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objective of this work is to observe the confrontations and coincidences of the federal government with the authorities of Campeche and Yucatán, with respect to the constitutional reforms to modify, annex, suppress or res- tore the territory of Quintana Roo from 1924 to 1935. We will highlight the pressures of the representatives of the states in the Senate and the leading role that this body plays as faithful of the balance. Inside the Upper House, it can be seen that the president’s strength is not ab- solute and that the requests of governments and state power groups are weighed against the interest of the other federated states and their representatives.
