The eutýna in the origins of the transparency and political precaution of the Athenian Constitution
Main Article Content
Abstract
This essay analyzes the political meaning of transparency practices present in the 5th and 4th centuries B.C., mainly of the eutýna, based on Aristotle's Constitution of the Athenians. For this purpose, the current meanings of transparency and accountability serve as a background to make sense of transparency in some procedures carried out in Athens to control political power. It is shown that in the Constitution of the Athenians there are written evidences and practices that are part of the various procedures and actions related to the exercise of its operability and compliance, which are mainly reflected in the eutýna, as an indispensable tool for the proper functioning of the organs of the State.
