Scope of gender equality in high education institutions, beyond the written law
Main Article Content
Abstract
In Higher Education Institutions (IES) there is a legal framework that establishes equal rights between men and women, highlighting the Higher Education Law. At the Michoacana University of San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH), in practice, the internal normative instruments are traversed by the patriarchal culture, that through uses and customs and stereotypes maintain a position of power for men over women. Through gender equity, the UMSNH seeks to promote a society with equal opportunities and rights for women through a series of institutional measures that are analyzed in this document.
