Artificial Intelligence and cultural heritage: an approach from the Digital Humanities
Main Article Content
Abstract
A panoramic vision of Artificial Intelligence applications in the cultural heritage sector is presented. These are organized in three groups: (1) digital documentation and conservation of sculptural and architectural heritage, (2) management, dissemination and study of digital collections based on the enrichment of their metadata and the interaction with the communities interested in them, and (3) interdisciplinary research approaches that use machine learning tools to perform macroscopic readings of large sets of artistic works, extending the methodologies of image studies. This approach uses the Digital Humanities as a starting point to propose routes to face the challenges experienced by cultural institutions in the horizon of possibilities described.
