Independently of whether or not the proofs of the existence of God are valid, their impact is low. The reason for this is that the characterization of the term “God” appearing in such proofs lacks religious relevance, or, according to Zubiri’s expression, they are proofs that do not lead to God as God. My aim is to clarify in what sense proofs of the existence of God fail to lead to God as God.
