Abstract

We consider this new born XXI’st century the one of plurality, difference and dialogue. An example of our statement —given at the end of the XXth century— was the philosophical exchange between E. Dussel and K.o. Apel. This paper shows the outstanding conclusions of each of the participants as results of reflecting on each others view: But, before, we expose the historical and philosophical beginning of discourse ethics (Apel) and ethics of liberation (Dussel), we will introduce to the basic conceptual elements of each theory. As conclusions of the dialogue we describe the ethical conceptions in both authors, their views, the role of ethics in a globalized world, the basic sources to face moral problems, etc. Finally, to make sense of the polemic and conclusions raised by both philosophers, we state the most important aftermaths on the contemporary moral life.
