What I try to do in this article is to re-think the role of the liberating philosophy in Latin America now days. In the first place, it begins making a sketch of the global historical context, pointing the main problems and the challenges that must be confronted from the actual philosophical perspective. In second place, it presents a critical vision of the ideology of neoliberalism, showing at the same time the main elements that configurates the crisis of the capitalist society and the needing of built a new philosophical speech wich will help to collide the design of liberating strategies and illuminates new possible alternatives to the neoliberal globalization. And finally, it makes a critical balance of the main philosophical disciplines to present and valorate the great contribution of Ignacio Ellacuria and R. Fornet-Betancourt to philosophy to the construction of a liberating thinking to our time.
