Phenomenological analysis of Van Goh’s painting “The Seeder”
Keywords:
phenomenology, painting, Van GoghAbstract
What I tried to do with this paper is an hermeneutic exercise about Van Gogh’s painting “The Seeder”. My purpose is to search an interpretation from the first apprehension of the painting itself. Taking as a support some information that Van Gogh himself presented in his writings Letters to Theo which only purpose were to clarify the apprehension itself. Avoiding a logical interpretation that usually forgets what is fundamental in the painting. We try to revitalize it from the inside out of the painting itself to get access to its meaning.
