This paper aims to show that Cavendish's panpsychist philosophical stance requires phantasy to be explained and understood. This faculty allows us to experience versions of the world that might seem, at first glance, foreign to us; but after becoming familiar with them through fiction, we can philosophically reconsider them. The epistemic value that Cavendish assigns to fantasy has been extensively studied within secondary literature. Here, however, only the importance that Cavendish confers to phantasy for philosophical practice will be analyzed.
