Author Biography

  • Hauke Ritz, Codirector, European Democracy Lab

    Desde su trabajo doctoral su investigación se centra en cuestiones de política exterior sobre la paz. A partir de 2007 se enfoca en el conflicto Este-Oeste, cuya persistencia investiga desde 2014 mediante viajes periódicos a Rusia y China. Ritz ha impartido clases en la Universidad de Giessen, en la MSU y la RGGU de Moscú, así como en otras universidades rusas. Para él, el eje central es la interrelación entre la filosofía y la geopolítica. Un ejemplo de ello es su libro Vom Niedergang des Westens zur Neuerfindung Europas (Del declive de Occidente a la reinvención de Europa), publicado en otoño de 2024, en el que expone la interrelación entre cultura y geopolítica tomando como ejemplo el conflicto Este-Oeste. En la primavera de 2026, el libro se publicó en Italia con el título Perché l’Occidente odia la Russia y fue un éxito de ventas durante varias semanas. En mayo de 2025 se publicó su colección de ensayos Warum der Weltfrieden von Deutschland abhängt (Por qué la paz mundial depende de Alemania). En otoño de 2022 publicó, junto con la profesora Ulrike Guerot, el éxito de ventas Endspiel Europa. Desde 2025 trabaja como editor en la editorial Hirschmann.
