La teoría crítica y el desafío de la globalización

En los años recientes el concepto de la globalización ha migrado exitosamente de los medios masivos de comunicación a los ámbitos de la teoría social y de la filosofía política. Pero esta migración no solamente refleja los cambios en las realidades económicas, políticas y sociales sino se remite también a la necesidad de revisar nuestras herramientas teóricas. La propia teoría se convierte en el objetivo de esta interrogación. Es en este sentido que la teoría crítica recupera su vigencia. Su interés ha sido siempre el de la auto-crítica de la teoría. Pero esto también significa que la teoría crítica —que existe hoy en su tercera generación— debe criticarse a sí misma. Este artículo arguye que especialmente una teoría crítica de la globalización debe aprender sus errores. Debe aceptar más voluntariamente las consecuencias de la conciencia de contingencia y debe tratar de superar su eurocentrismo inherente.
